When will American Idol season 14 start? – Premiere Date Confirmed

When does season 14 of American Idol start airing on Fox?

American Idol’s season 14 premiere date has now been officially set for Wednesday January 7 2015 on Fox. The new season gets underway with an hour long episode at 8/7c, followed by a two-hour special on Thursday the 8th.

Back to judge the new series will be the popular line-up of Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. As you’d expect, regular host Ryan Seacrest has also signed-up for another year of competition.

Though renewed for another season, it was revealed back in May that series 14 of American Idol would be airing over fewer TV hours than recent years. This news came despite Fox having already cancelled its other reality talent show The X Factor.
